Deadly Arachnid

She was a 5 year old little girl, Kayla loved bugs! She loved all kinds of bugs. She loved potato bugs, lady bugs, butterflies, all other kinds of bugs! She liked to take them home and show her mom, who would always begin hollering and telling Kayla to get out of the house with that bug. Kayla would always laugh and run out of the house screeching. Kayla always did this, until one day when she picked up the wrong bug.
Wandering around the basement one day; bobbing and weaving through all the junk splayed all over the floor, she was attempting to make it to the back of the room. “Uggggh, stupid basement, stupid floor” she growled when she tripped over her old tricycle and almost fell on her face. She finally made it to the back of the basement to where all the cobwebs and spiders were. She desperately wanted to show her mother her new discovery.
“There you are” Kayla smiled, sitting in front of her, spinning a web, was the prettiest spider Kayla had ever seen. “Come to mama” Kayla cooed, she reached her hand out and touched the spider’s butt, the red hourglass shape on the spiders’ backside was enticing to the eye and Kayla couldn’t take her eyes off of it. The spiders long black legs slowly climbed onto Kayla’s hand and sat there as if poised for a picture. Kayla began to rush towards the stairs to show her mom her discovery of the week. “Mommy! Mommy! I found a new spider, it’s black and red and pretty!” she squealed as she attempted to quickly and skillfully escape the clutter of her basement.
“Hey, mom! Are you listen- oof!” Kayla suddenly sprawled onto the floor face first. She felt a pang in the hand, the hand that held the black widow. Kayla turned suddenly woozy and watched the spider calmly but quickly escape from her palm. Kayla tried to grab for it but could not really move her hand, “what’s going on here?” Kayla asked herself, “I can’t move my body”. Kayla managed a faint “Mommy!” hoping her mom would hear and come down the stairs.
Minutes later Kayla’s mom came rushing down the stairs fussing. I’m making dinner Kayla, what do you need bab- Oh my god!”. Kayla’s mom came rushing to her side overflowing with tears, “baby what happened to you?” Kayla was now a purplish color and was shaking quite violently; she looked up and whispered, “I wanted to show you my new di- discovery”. She pointed her hand the best she could in the direction that the spider had gone. “What is it honey?” “Spider, he had a- a big black booty with a pretty red hourglass on it. He bit me, it- it hurt” Kayla managed to gurgle. “Okay hon, stay calm, I’ll get the vaccine” her mom said sniffling and crying. “Ok mommy, I love you” was the last thing Kayla said before she closed her eyes forever.
